"Paragraph 175" the documentary video about the survivors of the Gay Holocaust.
This video is well worth watching for anyone who has forgotten about or knows nothing about the Nazi persecution of homosexuals during World War II. it was thought by many to be an untold story. Paragraph 175 is a documentary that dispels that idea. The film was a Grand Jury Prizewinner of Best Documentary Direction at the Sundance Film Festival and also garnered the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. From there it was shown at LGBT Film festivals across the country and finally on HBO on Cable television. Klaus Müller did the research and led the actual series of moving interviews that were colored with compassion and flashes of humor. Müller says he grew up never knowing about the persecution of his gay grandfathers by the Nazis. As a gay man he knew they had no past because people dismissed what they had been through. He added that he felt it might be a little too late in telling them that their stories were important and that they needed to be heard, but he set out to record all he could.
