Keep Singing: Two Mothers, Two Sons and Their Fight Against Jesse Helms by Vaughn & Clarke This is compelling story of Eloise Vaughn and Patsy Clarke, a Democrat and a Republican, who become the "unlikeliest of activists." After losing their sons to AIDS, these two women meet and form MAJIC (Mothers Against Jesse in Congress.) Their journey, accounted in this book, carries them from their quiet North Carolina homes to the stage of the 1998 Democratic Convention in Chicago. Their battle put their names and faces in the pages of People magazine and The New York Times. Their struggle continues today. My partner gave me this book just before departing on our last vacation. I couldn't put it down! I've known Eloise for years and several of the mothers who started the group, MAJIC. All of the mothers of MAJIC (Mothers Against Jesse in Congress) are truly amazing women!
