SAGE/Milwaukee Events
Thursday's February 7, 14, 21, 28 ~ SAGE Drop-In Center at the SAGE/Milwaukee offices from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. come by and visit with friends, play cards or board games. Lot's of conversation about everything. Sometimes more fun than a barrel of monkeys. (Bring your own barrel)
Fridays, February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 ~ Art Experience 1:00-4:00 p.m. Are you over 50? Would you like to improve your artistic and/or storytelling skills? Come to SAGE/Milwaukee Friday afternoons, 1-4 pm, to learn, share and create in a safe and supportive environment. There are many media to choose from. For more information call 414-224-0517
Sunday, February 10 ~ Valentine's Party 2:00-5:00 p.m. Come and join your friends for some fun Heart stuff. Like games and cake and valentine cards and bags and friendly company. We will serve the cake and you bring a snack and a friend to share. (See page 2 Ed. Dir column for more details.)
Wednesday, February 13 ~ Euchre Wisconsin is famous for it's Euchre card parties. It's a fun game and SAGE member Bill Retrum will be on hand to teach the game to newcomers and challenge those of you who already know how to play. SAGE/Milwaukee offices from 1:00--3:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 16 ~ SAGE/Chicago Dance $5 in advance, $10 at the door. Refreshments will be provided and a cash bar will be on hand. DJ's, speed dating, and all kinds of fun. If you are interested in going please call the SAGE/Milwaukee office at 414-224-0517.
Sunday, February 17 ~ SAGE Sisterhood, A Womyn's only drop-in from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A great place to meet other women and join in good conversation. Even numbered months (Feb, April, June, etc) will be a games/chat agenda while odd numbered months will be different each month with crafts, dance lessons and other things. Attendees ideas are always welcome. Bring someone who needs to get out more often and, as always, bring a snack to share.
Tuesday, February 19 ~ VOTE TODAY. There are several LGBT candidates running for aldermanic districts. Learn all you can about the candidates so you can make your vote a good one. Bottom line, DISTURB YOUR ROUTINE! VOTE TODAY!
Friday, February 22 ~ Birthday Party. 7:00 p.m. If you were born in January, February or March (of any year) you are invited to a party just for all of you. Bring a baby picture of yourself and a gift to share. (see page 2 for complete details.)
Tuesday, February 26 ~ Canasta Night 7:00 p.m. at the SAGE offices. Bring a friend and a snack to share and join the fun. If you haven't played for a while, we'll catch you up. It's more fun than you remember. Be prepared to laugh and have a good time.
Friday, February 29 ~ Fish Fry at MONA's Come and celebrate Leap Day. 1407 S. 1st Street. $11pp. includes; Fried and Baked Alaskan Cod, coleslaw,potato balls, Rye bread, Dessert, Coffee or Soda, tax and tip. Friday, March 7 ~ Movie Night, Nine to Five. Come watch Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton turn the tables on working conditions in an office filled with misogyny. A classic for women, a laugh riot for everyone. Genevieve Trusouix will be your hostess, so bring a friend and a snack to share. Doors open at 6:00 and movie begins at 6:30 p.m.
